Summer Bridge Practice for Fourth Graders Going to Fifth Grade

Stop the summer slide and bridge the gap between fourth and fifth grade with this summer practice pack!  Math, reading, writing, grammar, research, science, social studies...it's all here!  There's also a parent letter explaining the packet and the importance of keeping the brain active over summer, a reading log, suggested reading list, and much more!

This is one of those projects I've been working on for a while.  It seemed to go on and on and on.  I'm finally finished and it's available to you in my TPT store!

Every subject is covered and it is all stuff a fourth grader should be able to do independently (other than a parent possibly driving them to a library) and uses items from around the house.

Just copy and send it home!

5 Things I'm Loving Right Now

We still have 7 weeks of school before we get out.  I'm soooooo ready.  In an effort to focus on the positive, I'm thinking about things I love right now.

1- This book.  I might have to make another post just about this one soon.  It has a bit of humor and a bit of a message about over-scheduled kids.

2- Zillow - I know, weird.  But I'm a serious planner.  I plan waaaay ahead.  My husband and I are planning to relocate in 2-4 years and I love surfing houses in the areas that we're looking.  I especially love that I can easily satellite view the map and see what's nearby and what the whole property looks like.

3- Homemade nut milks.  I have discovered that dairy is the main cause of both my seasonal allergies and my adult acne.  In an attempt to cut most of it out, I have been making nut milks.  They are fast to make and don't have the added ingredients that store bought nut milks have.  My favorite is macadamia.  (This one isn't my picture - it's from cleaneatingkitchen.com)

4-  The warmer weather.  This is a catch 22.  I was ready for warmer weather, but it kind of skipped over warm and went straight to hot here.  It's in the 90's this week!

5-  Being in the garden- The garden is planted and beginning to grow!  I can't wait to add more berry vines, but thus far all the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and zucchini are in the ground and getting bigger!  We even have a few baby grapes on our young grape vine.  (Pay no attention to the weeds ;) )

What are you loving right now?  Take a minute to remind yourself of the good things in life and share them in the comments!

The End of the School Year is Almost Here!

Can I get an "Amen!"?  Seriously, it has gone by fast but I am soooooo ready for summer.

During this time I always liked having my kids reflect on their year and their growth, but also set up next year's students for success in my classroom.

I put this pack in my store quite a while ago and it continues to be a top seller.  It has ideas for BOTH the end of the year, the beginning of the year, and tying the two together.

There are lots of ideas and quite a few printables as well.  More than 32 ideas are included!  That's less than 20 cents per idea!

One of my favorite things about the end of year activities are that it gives you things to put on your walls before the new year starts.  No more starting off the year with blank walls!

What do you think is a 'must do' at the end of the year?

Introducing the Multiplication Practice Series!

Finally!  This one has been rolling around in my head for a while.

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Practice-the-Twos-Multiplication-Support-Mini-Pack-2953629

What it is:

-A set of multiplication practice mini packs created for each separate multiplication table.

-Practice in that number and cumulative practice for 0 through that number.

For example, today I put the twos pack in my store.  There are two activities to do with the twos tables and one no prep game for mixed practice of zeros, ones, and twos.

Why do you need it?

When you're teaching multiplication (or reviewing it in upper grades), you sometimes need to target a certain set or table repeatedly.  This set of mini packs allows you to pick and choose.  Also, most teachers teach multiplication one table at a time.  Then they mix it all up at the end.  I prefer to keep reviewing what they've just learned along the way, so I've included cumulative review in each pack.  It can be hard to find mixed practice for only certain tables!  It also helps reinforce the previous tables for those students that are little slower at picking it up.

What's next?

The threes!  I'll be posting these in order.  Then at the end I'll bundle them for those of you who want the whole set.

Why did you start with twos and not zeros?

I have found that most students really don't need much practice with zeros and ones.  The twos are where it starts to get real. ;)

Head over to my TPT store and download yours today for only $1.50!
